Shaun Bigg – Qualified Running Coach & Personal Trainer

Whether you are looking to start running or you are a seasoned marathoner looking to go longer, Bigg Change coaching will provide you with the focus, the tools and the motivation you need.

I am passionate about helping people achieve their running and sport related goals. I know too well how busy life can be and that it often gets in the way of our training. Sometimes, exercise gets in the way of life too. My approach to your training is to find the healthy balance that means both life and your training support each other.

How My Coaching Works

You are an individual and at Bigg Change, when it comes to my coaching and training services, you will always be treated like one. I follow a tried and tested process to get you started. Once you are up and running, my methods and the types of training we will do will provide you with lots of variation to keep you going! I always strive to inject that all import fun factor into your weekly workouts. The Bigg Change process favours continuous improvement and incremental sustainable change. This way you will hit your goals, stay injury free and critically want to carry on.

Since starting in November I’m back running for good periods of time and distance. My body feels strong and I definitely feel fitter. I first engaged with Bigg Change during lockdown. I’d previously enjoyed running but had got out of the habit and lost all my fitness which it turns out happens quite quickly in your mid 40’s! Shaun was fantastic. We spoke through my goals, short term and long term, my motivations, my availability to schedule runs, previous injuries etc. Within a few days I had a fully tailored plan for the next few months stating our long term objectives, how we were going to achieve it, check points etc. and a detailed plan for that week. This went into such details as yoga links for additional flexibility, weight suggestions for strength, not just running targets. In just over a month I was staggered to be comfortably running over 10km again and more importantly I was enjoying it. Given that in week 1 I was really struggling (down to my lack of fitness, Shaun’s targets were more than reasonable!) I was so genuinely proud of myself. I would feedback to Shaun after each run and if there was a slight muscle niggle we would tailor the week accordingly. I cannot recommend Bigg Change enough. This is not just someone producing template running plans, the level of personal support is fantastic and each run was tailored just for me and my body. I found my love for running again, got my fitness back and gave myself a boost during these strange times, Shaun was the motivator in chief and I can’t thank him enough.
